Office of the Town Clerk
The Town Clerk's office is located at 16 School Street and is the official record keeper for the Town of Verona Island. The Town Clerk maintains the safekeeping and preservation of Town records, including but not limited to: vital records (birth, marriage, death, burial); Board of Selectmen records; and other official Town documents. The Town Clerk is responsible for licensing dogs; issuing hunting licenses; fishing licenses; recreational and motor vehicle registrations; and various business licenses. The Town Clerk administers elections and voter registrations and provides information on a variety of matters to the public including, but not limited to: vital records, genealogy, and cemeteries.
Town Hall RentalIf you're interested in renting the Verona Town Hall facilities for a party or reception, you will need to contact the Town Clerk for the appropriate information.
General Assistance InformationTax & Utility BillingThe Town Clerk's office can assist you with any questions you may have with regard to tax billing or sewer utilities billing.
Tax bills are sent in July and are due by September 30. Interest will be applied starting October 1 at a rate of 7%. If taxes remain unpaid by December 31 it will be considered as 'unpaid' and posted in the Town's annual report. New RegistrationsThe Town Clerk's office can assist you with new registrations of motor vehicles, recreational vehicles and more. For renewal registrations, you must visit our office.
